Founder and Program Consultant Susan K. Tauber is a pediatric occupational therapist with more than 40 years experience working with children and families. She received her degree in occupational therapy from New York University and a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Georgia State University. She has co-authored the chapter on Early Intervention in Occupational Therapy for Children (2010, 2005, 2003, 2000, 1995, 1989). You can email Susan at stauber@alckids.org

Executive Director Charles C. Schoen, IV joined ALC in March of 2010.  Charles' background spans both the corporate and non-profit communities as well as having a personal connection to ALC.  His business background includes the insurance industry which will be an asset to ALC.   He has co-chaired the Annual Fund for Holy Innocents Episcopal School, served on Children's Healthcare of Atlanta's Board of Directors for its Annual Fund and was a loaned executive for United Way.  On a personal note, Charles and his wife Kathy are ALC alumni parents.  Their son, Charlie was in ALC's first Inclusion Program at Shirley Blumenthal Park from 1998 through 2002.  Charles has a passion for the ALC mission and certainly knows first hand what ALC means to the community.  Kathy is a past-president of ALC's parent committee (PALC).  We are confident that Charles will be an asset to ALC and look forward introducing him to you over the next few weeks.  You can email Charles at cschoen@alckids.org

Program Director Kathy Ward has more than 30 years of experience in the field of Early Childhood and Special Education and serves as the liaison between parents, teachers, special education facilitators, and other resources within the community. She is a graduate of Florida State University and has a degree in Child Development. You can email Kathy at kward@alckids.org

Director of Development Evan Pearson has been with us since March of 2010. Evan has an MBA and is a certified fundraising executive (CFRE) with 12 years of experience.  Most recently he was the Director of Community Relations with Georgia Community Support and Solutions, an agency serving adults 21 and over with developmental disabilities in community placements.  Prior to GCSS, he was Director of Marketing & Development for adapted sports.  His range of development experience includes grant and proposal writing, brand management and marketing and a clear understanding of the disabilities community.  You can contact Evan at epearson@alckids.org

Program Supervisor Kelly VanSant  has more than 30 years of experience in the field of Special Education.  She celebrated her 20th year with ALC in 2009.   Kelly earned her B.A. in  Special Education and her M.A. in Preschool Special Education from  Louisiana Tech  University.  You can email Kelly at kvansant@alckids.org

Business Manager Susan S. Danser has over 20 years of experience working in medical and educational business offices. Susan has a bachelor's degree in Marketing and a master's degree in Human Resources from Kennesaw State University.  You can email Susan at sdanser@alckids.org

Secretary Jackie Buckley joined the ALC family in September of 2009.  She has worked for over 10 years in the Preschool environment.  She has been in the classroom as an assistant teacher, and she has also worked in the business office as well. You can email Jackie at jbuckley@alckids.org

ALC's staff is also comprised of specifically trained special education facilitators. These professionals provide direct services to children with special needs in the classroom to ensure that all children are actively engaged in all learning activities. In addition to these facilitators, ALC has 2 Special Education Supervisors, Sharon Braver and Karen Thomson. Sharon & Karen bring more than 30 years of experience in Special Education. Our licensed therapists provide therapy to children in our inclusive preschools and out-patient clinic with state-of-the-art Occupational and Speech Therapies. All of our therapists have between 7 and 34 years of years experience in working with young children.
